Information about the standard:

The ISCC certification system covers sustainable raw materials, including agricultural and forestry biomass, biogenic waste, circular materials, and renewable energy sources. ISCC is one of the world’s largest certification systems, currently having over 5,000 valid certificates in more than 100 countries. It was developed through an open process involving many stakeholders and is governed by an association with over 175 members, including research institutes and NGOs. This standard confirms that the raw materials for biofuel production and the biofuels themselves are produced in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, through authorized verification of greenhouse gas emissions reduction, sustainable land use, traceability, protection of the natural environment, and ensuring sustainable social development, in accordance with the Directive (EU) 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources.
